My sewing interest all started with Midge....Barbie's BFF. My grandmother made a skirt and a blouse for Midge and sewed it together to make a dress...WOW! I got hooked on sewing and have been doing so, in some form or another, for many decades.

I studied fashion design while working at a costume shop as a seamstress, then worked at a bridal shop. I had my own dress making business for 18 years, went back to college for interior design and decided to go into merchandising and window display. I worked for Nordstrom as a display director for 11 years.

Then came marriage, the baby carriage, and living on a sailboat for 12 years! I now reside in Pennsylvania. Becoming a land-lubber has enabled me to stretch my creative wings once again ('cuz there's only SO much decorating one can do on a 37' sailboat!).

susan at fairSince being in PA I've been enchanted with all of the old shutters and architectural salvage to be had here. I started collecting all kinds of stuff that I could embellish and put my touch on. That brought me to the fine detail of embroidered linens. I made a pillow out of an embroidered runner with a chenille backing. It was fabulous! Voila, "Stuffed Linens" was born! So now, I create pillows made out of many types of materials. I'm inspired by so much around me that it is hard to contain my creativity! No, really! I've even made lampshades out of zip ties!

My designers eye will ensure a one of a kind re-creation from days gone by.
